Yesterday, Sunday, March 8, Cindy, Sophie and I took a field trip to Pullen Park! This incredible park is nestled in Raleigh, NC, minutes from downtown and the NC State campus. What a beautiful day! Temperatures in early March were in the mid-sixties, the sun was out, and we had a great time. We took this adventure as part of our #ontheroadwithmickey series that we have, and also to give Sophie some live time to work with our GoPro video camera to familiarize herself with how it works for our Disney trip. What I didn’t know was some of the background on Pullen Park. Take a look at these details:
- Pullen Park is the first public park in North Carolina. It opened in 1887.
- Pullen Park is the 5th oldest operating amusement park in the US.
- Pullen Park is the 16th oldest operating amusement park in the world.
- At Pullen Park, you can ride the carousel, the train, a paddle boat, or the kiddie boats. All tickets are $1.50 per ticket.
Here’s a little photo gallery of some of our pictures from the day:
As I mentioned, one of the things we also did was to record some video of the attractions at the park. Here’s a video of our ride on the C. P. Huntington train. Enjoy!
